I'm starting a new blog with a new name. I'm finally feeling confident enough to start marketing some of my art pieces and needed a name that fit who I am and what I want to represent. Red Pearl, while it describes my red hair and my name, just didn't fit my passions and interests. Mama Bird, on the other hand is all about who I am. First and foremost, I am a mother, foster mom, and grandmother and I have always been "mama" to any lost kids who came my way. I'm also very much a nature lover, hiker of the woods, and wildlife watcher (especially birds). So this new name of Mama Bird feels like home to me.
I think I'm finally finding my niche in my art, too. I've spent the last year and a half playing with art journaling, collage, acrylics, searching for what will be my style. I think I'm finally finding myself in my art. Again, I hope my art will reflect the parts of me who make up who I am, the mother figure, the nature lover, the child of God.
I'm so thankful for my creative, artful friends and mentors that I've met online who have taught and nourished me over the past year and a half. I've learned something from each of them - Suzi Blu, Willowing, Paulette, Wyanne, Jane, and Mystelle. Thank you all for sharing your talent and inspiration with all of us who are traveling behind.
